BSMHD AGM and Regional Meeting - South Wales, 31st October 2013

A new date and venue for a Regional meeting and AGM will be announced shortly.

BSMHD seek new Trustees

There will be vacancies on the bSMHD Board with effect from the AGM.

The Board meets 4 times a year at various locations (normally at the end of Regional Meetings) and reasonable travel expenses are paid. Most of the business of the Board is conducted through Email.

In order to be nominated for election, you need to be a paid up member of BSMHD and nominated by 2 other members.

Nomination forms are available from the General Secretary.

Closing date for nominations is Friday 18th October 2013.

International Congress on Mental Health and Deafness � 17th to 19th September 2014, Belfast

ESMHD, along with BSMHD are currently in the planning stage for a 3 day� International Congress on Mental Health and Deafness in Belfast on 17th, 18th and 19th September 2014.

If you are interested in delivering a paper, running a seminar or exhibiting, please let the General Secretary know as soon as possible.

If you wish to attend, BSMHD are arranging special B&B rates for members at a local hotel.

Mental Health First Aid training - England Only

Future dates for Mental Health First Aid training are;

Manchester � September 26th and 27th (full)

Bristol � October 14th and 15th (full)

Nottingham - November 21st and 22nd

Haywards Heath, West Sussex - December 2nd and 3rd.

All courses are free and delivered in BSL/SSE by a Deaf trainer.

Psychological Therapies Conference � London, 28th and 29th November 2013.

The New Savoy Partnership�7th Annual Conference &�Exhibition�will take place on the 28th and 29th November at the Mermaid Conference Centre�in London.�Those who join us will be able to hear about the results of the 2nd National Audit for Psychological Therapies. �As well as inviting you to join us for that I want to tell you about the work we will be engaged in during this year.

Healthy Deaf Minds Meetings

London

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 4th September 2013 at The Small Meeting Room, Friends Meeting House, Euston Road, opposite Euston station starting at 6pm.

The topic will be DeafHope. Speaker is Lynn Shannon, Service Manager of DeafHope.

Scotland - The next meeting will be held at Skyline Suite, 7th Floor, Mercure Hotel, Princess Street, Edinburgh on Wednesday 26th September at 6.30pm.

The topic is "Justice for All - Does that include DEaf people?" The speaker is Dr Sue O'Rourke, Independent Consultant Clinical Psychologist who specialises in working with Deaf people in legal settings.

All are welcome, admission is free and refreshments are provided.

HDM Scotland is able to continue with generous funding from Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation.
